Mecco to cater at this year’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone
Event caterer Mecco, part of One Event Management Ltd, will once again team up with British Grand Prix to lend its notable catering flair and style to this year’s Grand Prix at Silverstone, 8 – 10 July.
Mecco will be continuing its relationship with Silverstone Circuits Ltd by delivering catering at exclusive hospitality areas including the Drivers’ Lounge at Lakeside. New for this year, Mecco will provide hospitality catering at Silverstone Six, a private area with six suites. Over the weekend approximately 6,500 guests will enjoy trackside views along with menus rich in flavour and created around the seasonal harvest from suppliers.
Mecco will also be working with Mercedes Benz to create a new VIP hospitality offering for the automotive company’s key stakeholders and guests.
Creative Director Dan Mann is overseeing 2016’s menu design and food styling. The focus for the British Grand Prix is luxury British cuisine utilising the best of the seasonal harvest. Menu highlights include roasted free range pork loin, mustard, apples and potatoes; Kiln roasted Scottish salmon with lemon crème fraiche; Isle of Wight tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella & cabernet sauvignon vinegar dressing; and English strawberries with Eton mess cream; and Oxford blue cheese with quince & walnuts.
Attracting race goers and businesses from across the world, Silverstone, the home of British motor racing, will see some of motorsports most decorated drivers taking part, including last year’s winner and current world champion, Lewis Hamilton.
Jeremy Wood, Chairman of Mecco, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Silverstone Circuits Ltd and the British Grand Prix. We’re committed to building the legacy of this historic event and we look forward to working with the team to deliver more amazing race day experiences, enhancing the very high standards already in place.”
Patrick Allen, Managing Director at Silverstone Circuit, commented: “In Mecco we believe we have a partner who can deliver a top product and the level of service that befits one of the greatest sporting events in the UK. I am confident that our customers in both the Silverstone Six and Lakeside hospitality villages at this year’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix will experience the finest food throughout the day at these prestigious locations.”
